Last updated: 26 June 2026
Overview
These terms govern your use of the Ember Web website and the services we provide. By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to these terms in full. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.
Ember Web is a trading name of Ember Web Ltd, registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is: Number 5 - The Business Quarter, Eco Park Road, Ludlow, Shropshire, SY8 1FD.
Services
We provide WordPress maintenance, support, performance optimisation, hosting management and development services. The specific scope of work for each client is defined in the relevant support plan or project agreement.
We reserve the right to update or modify the services included in our plans at any time. Existing clients will be notified of any material changes in advance.
Client responsibilities
When working with us, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information when requested.
- Grant necessary access to your website, hosting and relevant third-party accounts.
- Maintain valid backups of your website content where you manage your own hosting.
- Respond to queries and approval requests in a reasonable timeframe.
- Ensure that any content you ask us to publish complies with applicable laws.
Payment terms
Support plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. One-off projects are invoiced as agreed in the project proposal - typically 50% upfront and 50% on completion.
Invoices are due within 14 days of issue unless otherwise agreed. We reserve the right to suspend services if payment is overdue by more than 30 days.
All prices are quoted in GBP and exclude VAT unless stated otherwise.
Cancellation
Monthly support plans can be cancelled at any time with 30 days’ written notice. Annual plans can be cancelled at the end of the current billing period with 30 days’ notice.
We may terminate a service agreement with 30 days’ notice if we believe the arrangement is no longer a good fit, or immediately if these terms are materially breached.
On cancellation, we will provide reasonable assistance to transfer your website and accounts to another provider.
Intellectual property
All custom code, designs and deliverables created specifically for your project are owned by you once paid for in full.
We retain the right to use general techniques, tools and frameworks developed during our work. We may also reference the project in our portfolio unless you request otherwise in writing.
Any third-party plugins, themes or software remain subject to their own licence terms.
Limitation of liability
We take reasonable care in delivering our services but cannot guarantee that your website will be free from all issues, downtime or security threats. WordPress relies on third-party plugins, themes and hosting infrastructure beyond our direct control.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the fees paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost revenue, data loss or business interruption, except where caused by our gross negligence.
Confidentiality
We treat all client information, login credentials and business data as confidential. We will not share this information with third parties except where necessary to deliver our services or where required by law.
Website usage
You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or infrastructure.
- Use automated tools to scrape, copy or reproduce content from this website.
- Submit false or misleading information through any form on this website.
- Use this website in any way that could damage, disable or impair its availability.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
